The Salisbury City Council has officially declared March 2025 as Endometriosis Awareness Month to highlight the struggles of millions of women affected by this often misunderstood condition.
Endometriosis impacts the lining of the uterus, causing severe pelvic pain, infertility, and other significant health challenges. The proclamation, presented by Councilwoman Michele Gregory, aims to encourage Salisbury residents and healthcare providers to foster more supportive environments for those living with the disease.
Salisbury Council President D’Shawn Doughty expressed pride in being part of the initiative. “March is also Women’s History Month, and with a majority of women on the council, it’s important to emphasize these issues. As individuals and stakeholders, it’s our responsibility to address them. Regardless of national discussions, we are committed to listening to our community.”
