With one in six couples in the U.S. facing infertility, researchers argue that testing options for men remain limited. In response, PS Fertility, based in Albemarle County, has developed an advanced at-home sperm test designed to provide more accurate and accessible results.
Unlike traditional semen analysis methods that have remained largely unchanged for over 40 years, this new test allows men to collect a sample at home and mail it directly to PS Fertility’s lab, with results available within a week.
Jeffrey Lysiak, the company’s Chief Scientific Officer, emphasizes the importance of male fertility testing. “Infertility is not just a female issue—it’s equally likely to be a male factor,” Lysiak explains. “Couples struggling with fertility should ensure both partners are tested.”
The new test aims to simplify the diagnostic process, offering men a discreet and reliable way to assess their reproductive health, ultimately helping couples identify potential fertility challenges earlier in their journey.
