A couple from Guernsey who created a local infertility support platform have expressed being “overwhelmed” by the international response it has garnered.
Lucy and Luke Vidamour launched In Crowd in November after facing a lack of local support during their eight-year journey to conceive. The platform, initially aimed at their home island, has resonated with people from across the world, with individuals from the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia sharing their own infertility experiences through the site.
“It’s incredible,” Luke said. “Our focus was on helping the local community, but it’s clear the message is striking a chord with people globally.”
In Crowd offers a comprehensive resource center designed to address the challenges the couple faced when they first began their fertility journey. The couple’s first post on the site reached over 250,000 people.
“We’ve received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback,” Lucy shared. “It’s been amazing, not just from Guernsey, but from all over the world.”
Luke noted that the shared stories from different countries had given others the confidence to speak out about their own struggles with infertility.
“In a small place like Guernsey, there might only be a few people going through similar experiences,” he said. “But when they see others talking openly online, it empowers them to share their own stories.”
The couple’s initiative has clearly sparked a global conversation, offering both a sense of solidarity and a platform for open dialogue.
