Twentyeight Health, a digital-first healthcare platform dedicated to providing accessible, affordable, and stigma-free reproductive and sexual care, has announced several significant milestones, including $10 million in Series A funding, new partnerships with Medicaid insurers, and a surge in user engagement following the November 5th presidential election.
Series A Funding & Expansion
Twentyeight Health has raised $10 million in Series A funding, led by Seae Ventures and supported by Impact America Fund, The Social Entrepreneurs’ Fund, RH Capital, Impact Engine, Gratitude Railroad, and Townhall Ventures. This brings the company’s total funding to $25 million. The company’s growth is further supported by new collaborations with leading Medicaid insurers, including Aetna, AmeriHealth, and Molina.
User Growth and Engagement
Following the results of the presidential election in November, Twentyeight Health saw a notable increase in user interest, with a 52% jump in overall conversions, a 10% rise in website traffic, and a doubling in emergency contraception sales. These trends reflect the platform’s growing reach and the increasing demand for accessible reproductive care.
Mission and Services
Since its launch in 2018, Twentyeight Health has focused on serving underserved communities with reproductive and sexual health services. Approximately 50% of its users earn less than $20,000 annually and rely on services that accept Medicaid. With partnerships across the payer landscape, Twentyeight Health is able to offer many services at no cost, including prescriptions and co-pays.
The platform provides a wide range of services, including access to multiple birth control methods, abortion pills, the morning-after pill, herpes treatments, pregnancy tests, and other reproductive health products. Plans to expand services in 2025 are also in place, aiming to further improve access to essential care.
Reach and Demographics
Twentyeight Health, initially launched in just two states, has now expanded to 43 states, including high-need areas like Florida, Texas, Nevada, and Ohio. Notably, three in five of its users are considered underserved, and two in five do not see a primary care provider outside the platform. Additionally, nearly 60% of users identify as people of color, underscoring the platform’s commitment to serving diverse populations.
Milestone Achievement
The platform surpassed 100,000 users in October 2024, propelled by strategic partnerships with Converge in Mississippi and patient acquisitions from SimpleHealth and The Pill Club. The uptick in user sign-ups following the November election further highlights the platform’s relevance in providing essential services to communities in need.
Twentyeight Health’s ongoing growth signals a significant shift toward more inclusive and accessible reproductive healthcare, with even greater expansions expected in the year ahead.
