Ree Drummond’s daughter Alex Drummond, 27, has shared a detailed update on her pregnancy journey as she and her husband, Mauricio Scott, anticipate the arrival of their first child. The couple, who announced their exciting news in late June, are expecting a baby girl in early 2025.
Currently 36-and-a-half weeks pregnant as of Friday, December 6, Alex opened up about her experience managing a high-risk pregnancy due to “white coat blood pressure hypertension.” In an Instagram Stories update, she explained the added care she is receiving. “I go to appointments with both my OB and maternal fetal medicine for extra scans and monitoring,” Alex shared. Despite the high-risk designation, she noted that her pregnancy “has not felt very high risk” overall, as everything has progressed normally.
The extra precautions have meant doubling up on medical visits, with Alex undergoing ultrasounds approximately every three weeks. “It’s always fun to see how she’s growing and check her positioning,” she said, revealing that her baby appears “ready to go.”
So far, the baby has been developing right on target, measuring in the 50th to 60th percentile. Alex anticipates her daughter will weigh over six pounds at birth. “It’s actually crazy to think I have a 6-pound baby inside of me,” she said.
Earlier in her pregnancy, there were discussions about inducing labor early due to her blood pressure concerns. However, Alex noted that her condition has stabilized in recent weeks. “The plan now is to wait until my due date and see if she comes naturally,” she explained. If the baby does not arrive on time, induction may still be an option, but Alex expressed relief at being able to wait it out for now.
With her due date fast approaching, Alex and Mauricio are counting down the days until they meet their daughter.
