Brittany Dawn Nelson, a 33-year-old woman from Texas, has finally received the joyous news she’s long hoped for after enduring years of heartache, including multiple miscarriages and a failed adoption. On October 15, Nelson shared an emotional video on Instagram, capturing the heartfelt reactions of her friends and family as they learned of her pregnancy.
In an interview with Newsweek, Nelson reflected on her difficult journey, revealing that she and her partner had faced a miscarriage and a chemical pregnancy in the three years since they married. The couple also experienced a failed adoption earlier that year, a challenging experience in which a match was made with a child, but the adoption process was never legally completed.
The video posted by Nelson shows her revealing her pregnancy in creative and touching ways. In one heartwarming moment, she surprises her father with a onesie that reads “Future gate opener” with a picture of farmyard animals. For Nelson, sharing the news with her father was especially meaningful. “He had been standing in faith that we would soon be parents, so it was a full-circle moment getting to share the exciting news with him,” she said.
Nelson’s journey to this point was not an easy one. Earlier this year, she and her partner were given just a 0.005% chance of conceiving due to infertility. This makes the announcement even more poignant for the couple, as they’ve fought against significant odds to reach this milestone.
Nelson shared the video on her Instagram account (@realbrittanydawn), captioning it, “New core memories, unlocked. We are so blessed by the people that have been standing in faith with us.” The video quickly went viral, amassing 1.7 million views and over 73,000 likes. Thousands of comments flooded in, with viewers expressing their emotional reactions and support for the couple.
One user wrote, “These reactions are how you know that you have the best village behind you to help you with your sweet miracle baby,” while another commented, “This is so wholesome and brought tears to my eyes. Knowing how much you all have prayed for this little one. I’m just so happy to see this! God is so good.”
Nelson’s story is a powerful testament to perseverance, faith, and the power of community support through the trials of infertility.
