Eliza and Liberty Paschke, stars of The Block, shared an emotional conversation about fertility on their podcast Try Before You Die, discussing the challenges of egg freezing as single women. Over the past month, Eliza, 38, has openly documented her journey of freezing her eggs for the second time. In their latest podcast episode, she revealed how the process has triggered doubts and anxiety about her future.
“Even though I’m being proactive, I’m scared. I don’t know what to do,” a tearful Eliza admitted. She shared that while she had been unsure about having children, egg freezing felt like a safety net for potential motherhood later in life. Liberty, 35, who has also frozen her eggs, resonated with her sister’s feelings. She expressed the pressure of finding a partner, questioning whether having a child without a partner was an option.
Eliza’s candid discussion struck a chord with listeners, many of whom empathized with the sisters’ struggles. “This is an issue felt by many, many women,” one listener commented, applauding the sisters for their honesty. Egg freezing, a process similar to IVF, involves hormone injections to stimulate egg production, followed by harvesting and freezing viable eggs. The cost of the procedure can range from $7,000 to $10,000 per cycle, with ongoing storage fees.
The Paschke sisters first gained fame on The Block 2023, where they sold their property for a $1.05 million profit despite having no prior renovation experience. Their vulnerability and openness about fertility issues have sparked widespread support and discussion on women’s reproductive choices.
