Milwaukee’s Kindbody Fertility Clinic stands out for its commitment to inclusivity and personal understanding in reproductive care. A central figure in this mission is Magnetta, a member of the LGBTQ+ community who draws on her personal experiences to connect with patients.
Magnetta’s own journey through recurrent pregnancy loss and the eventual success of having three children informs her empathetic approach to patient care. “Having faced my own challenges in trying to conceive, I deeply relate to those struggling with similar issues,” she explained. “Experiencing these struggles personally equips me with the empathy needed to truly understand our patients’ emotional and physical hurdles.”
Dr. Ellen Hayes, the clinic’s fertility specialist and medical director, has been a prominent figure in the fertility field for nearly two decades. Hayes emphasizes the clinic’s dedication to inclusivity, which she integrates into her practice.
One notable service offered is reciprocal IVF, which allows both partners in a same-sex female couple to be involved in the reproductive process. “We often perform reciprocal IVF, where eggs are retrieved from one partner, fertilized, and then implanted in the other partner,” Hayes said. “This method allows both partners to actively participate and share in the experience.”
The clinic reports that half of its patients are engaged in egg freezing, highlighting the need for a supportive and inclusive environment. Hayes underscores the importance of celebrating each patient’s identity and ensuring they feel valued. “Here, we celebrate you for who you are, and we are dedicated to helping build families regardless of their background,” she affirmed.
