In recognition of National Infertility Awareness Week, HRC Fertility, one of the largest providers of advanced fertility care, has highlighted the growing need for better fertility education and more inclusive treatment options. Their latest survey, conducted in partnership with Propeller Insights in March 2025, reveals crucial insights into public knowledge and access to fertility care.
The survey polled over 1,000 U.S. adults between the ages of 18 and 44, seeking to understand their awareness of fertility treatment, preferences, and care expectations. The results show that while many individuals are eager to learn more, they still face significant barriers in accessing accurate information and culturally competent care.
A major finding of the survey shows that 78% of respondents would be interested in a complimentary second IVF cycle if the first attempt was unsuccessful. This highlights the emotional and financial challenges many families face when pursuing fertility treatments. It also emphasizes the importance of comprehensive packages, such as HRC Fertility’s Promise and Dream Packages, which aim to reduce the uncertainty surrounding treatment costs.
Kerry Ayazi, President of HRC Fertility, explained, “Our goal is to educate and provide options for everyone, whether they are considering family building or starting their journey right now.” Ayazi emphasized that the survey results underline the need for more education and access to fertility care options.
The survey also uncovered that 63% of respondents had never heard of Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) testing, a standard test that helps assess ovarian reserve and fertility potential. Despite this lack of knowledge, 70% expressed interest in attending a free informational session about AMH. This reflects a clear gap in basic fertility education, which HRC Fertility is working to address by offering complimentary AMH testing at its educational events.
When asked about employer-sponsored fertility benefits, more than half of respondents said they were unaware of what fertility benefits their insurance plan offered, or whether reproductive services were covered at all. This lack of transparency can create obstacles for individuals seeking fertility care. To address this, HRC Fertility provides direct support to patients, helping them navigate insurance questions and guiding them through the process from pre-authorization to claims submission.
Dr. John Wilcox, Chair of HRC Fertility, shared, “We are committed to increasing access to fertility care, whether through existing insurance plans or newly mandated coverage in California.” HRC Fertility is also expanding to Nevada, with a new Las Vegas location opening this year.
The survey, conducted in March 2025, was commissioned by HRC Fertility and administered by Propeller Insights, a full-service market research firm. The survey aimed to assess public attitudes towards fertility, treatment options, and inclusive care.
